On Friday, I left work an hour early, got stuck in traffic anyway, finally picked Rob up in northern Virginia four and a half hours later, and then we drove five more hours to Tarrytown, New York.
We got to the hotel and passed out and then Sean ran the next afternoon, thereby finishing four years of college cross-country. We explored the village, ate some of the largest portions of Greek food I've ever seen, drank espresso, and went back to the hotel to nap. With the best intentions, we headed to the train station to catch a ride into New York City, but it was $100 for four of us to get there and back and we didn't actually have any plans. So we went to a bar and had a drink.
I didn't take one good picture of Rob, it felt like we were only in town for twenty minutes, and we drove more than sixteen hours to get there and back, but I'm so glad we went. Road trips really are the best, even when they're not.
ohh, what a happy day. I love your smile, Megan :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Carrie!
Deletewow-serious runners!
ReplyDeleteSee, it worked out that we couldn't meet up! :) Maybe next time.
ReplyDeleteAnd that is some serious sisterly dedication for you to drive all of those hours for one cross-country meet. You're such a sweetheart. Also, I don't know why I didn't realize this until now, but Sean totally reminds me of Ben. I think it's the skinny runner body and the dark hair/beard. Weird.
Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteWay to make the best out of something that just wasn't quite the best!!! Love the pictures....Such a sweet, happy time. Enjoy your holiday!
