Music for the Distance

Wednesday, February 13, 2013

A few months ago I created a running playlist and I had a lot of fun with it. Unlike the running one, no one actually asked me to do this one, but I thought since it's the week of Valentine's Day, it might be nice to share some songs I've always kept together to play whenever I'm missing Rob more than usual. I'll be in Minneapolis this weekend, but my flight doesn't get in until very late on the night of Valentine's Day, so I'll probably be missing it this year.

Play it in the widget below or right here.

What songs do you listen to when you're missing someone?

  1. I was just going to type Transatlanticism - I think I must have skimmed over it the first time I looked at the playlist. I also keep Joshua Radin and Richard Walters on regular rotation when feeling lonely.

  2. Oh! I love when you list music. I hope you enjoy your upcoming trip! I like Matt Pond PA (Specks is my favorite), Stubborn Love by the Lumineers, and anything by the Postal Service. Hope Rob is liking it so far!

  3. Great playlist. I adore every single one of these songs. I'm a new follower just stopping by to say hello.

  4. Anything with Regina Spektor gets my vote :) Great picks. Have a safe flight!

  5. I love playlists–and that you included Les Mis...can't wait to give this a listen!

  6. Ooh, "Transatlanticism." That was my anthem with a long-distance ex, and just seeing the name produced a little twinge in my heart. Though that love affair wasn't meant to last, I still love that song!

    1. That's because it's awesome! One of my favorite songs ever, even before I could relate to it the way I do now.

  7. I adore little love playlists like this. I have one of a lot of our wedding songs and I love how they bring me back to specific memories of the day every time.

So excited for your little trip to see Rob!

  8. I just stumbled upon your blog and I'm so glad I did! I'm from Roanoke myself and now live in Alexandria, VA. Such a small world! Interested to learn more about you.

  9. I loooove Regina Spektor, and the fact you have a song from Les Mis on your running playlist is just the best thing ever. Enjoy your time with Rob lovely! x

  10. Thanks for sharing the playlist

  11. Thanks for this...especially the songs by Regina. Love her.
