When life gives you lemons...
You know what they say.
Unfortunately, most lemonade has like, at least a full cup of sugar in it.
So I made a Paleo-friendly version with some agave nectar.
And then I put raspberries in ice cubes, because when life gives you raspberries, you make ice cubes.
For the lemonade:
Makes about five or six cups.
About six lemons (or as much as it takes to make one cup of juice)
Four cups of water.
1/4 cup + one tablespoon of agave nectar (this didn't make it very sweet--you can add more if you want)
1. Mix the water with the agave nectar (it helps to use warm water so the agave will dissolve more easily).
2. Add lemon juice, taste for sweetness, and refrigerate until cold.
3. Serve with slices of lemon and raspberry ice cubes.

For the ice cubes:
A handful of raspberries
Ice cube tray
1. Put raspberry/raspberries in each ice cube mold.
2. Add water.
3. Freeze. You've got this.
oh this looks fantastic. ps, what nail color are you wearing in the picture with the lemon?
ReplyDeleteThis looks so delicious and also fancy. I would feel pretty classy sipping this on the back porch. It must be the fun raspberry ice cubes! Yum!
ReplyDeleteLove this! I was just making my own juice recipe and thought to myself, "it would be so great if I made fruity ice cubes!" But I don't have any small, yummy fruits like raspberries at the moment, so I had to pass on the idea. I so love seeing it here though and those ice cubes look delicious! So does your lemonade recipe...yum!

Funny that I always think about "when life gives you lemons..." when I go to my backyard to pick some!
ReplyDeleteIt's true, most lemonades are quite sugar packed... never tried agave though, must add to my to-do list. The raspberries look beautiful, I feel tempted to try it even if it is with kiwifruit or something like that! And everything set on the glass looks fantastic :)
Just needs some vodka!!! Is it summer yet? Can I come over?
ReplyDeleteThis puts me in the summer-iest of moods. I love it.
ReplyDeleteLooks great!!!
ReplyDeletethis is so fun! I love the ice cubes, so fancy! I cant wait to try this recipe. I am always looking for something fun, but healthy to drink. my husband drinks me out of the house on sweet tea, and that is just sooo bad and sugary!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea for the raspberries in the ice cubes.
ReplyDeleteThis is kind of the perfect summertime lemonade. Maybe throw in a little vodka and hang by the pool?
