Life Lately According to Instagram (#20)

Wednesday, July 3, 2013

Every few months, I start to feel weird about posting Instagram recaps on my blog. For a while I had a bunch of photos lined up every thirty days on the dot, but recently I've been forgetting about it or waiting a few extra days, then narrowing down my collection of favorites to ten or less because I'm afraid I'm going to bore you with things you've already seen.

Also I have to say that I feel incredibly dull, nattering on about what it means to post photo collages on my blog every month, so I'm going to go ahead and stop. If you're bored, I apologize, but I'm going to keep on doing these because once they're done, I feel good about them. Also, I've been doing them since May of 2012, and I barely ever stick with things for this long, so we're going to ride this train for as long as possible.

With that, take a look at June. Hard to believe it's come and gone already.

1-3. We've had some pretty beautiful days around here.
4. I wrote all my bridesmaids cards. I loved it. They went all over, from New York City to South Korea.
5. Our bedroom in Minneapolis is really pretty.
6. I think I broke the Happy Hour Record in June. Is that a thing? Because it sounds awesome.
7-9. Was reunited with so many people I love for Melissa's wedding!

So tell me, how was your June?
Have a photo recap post yourself? Leave me the link!

Life Lately According to Instagram is a once-monthly feature in which I showcase my favorite Instagram shots. You can follow along with me in real-time if you'd like--I'm @megan_flynn.

  1. There's nothing wrong with a little recap! It's seems like people always wonder where the month goes, so it's nice to take the time to look back on where it actually went. I'm sure it makes you smile when you see the pictures and remember the month, and being it's your blog, isn't that pretty important?

Basically, I like your recap! Not bored with at all!

    1. Thanks Katie! So glad to hear it. It is so nice to go back through them and see the few photos I chose to represent that month.

  2. Lovely pictures! June looks like it was a fun month :)

I just started doing photo recaps, although mine isn't nearly as exciting as yours!

  3. Looks like a good life lately :)

  4. Hello!
I' ve found your blog on bloglovin and I felt in love, it is so cute <3
Amazing Instagram pictures, it is my favourite app, I also would like to start a monthly post with all my insta-pics it is a great idea <3
    Have a nice day

  5. Boring?! Not at all! I started reading your blog several months ago after I scrolled by it on the sidebar of another regular read of mine. Of the regular blogs that I read (there's really only yours and four others) one of the things I love most are the pictures. I'm a graphic designer and it's always a refreshing delight for me to take a break from work and check in on your blog to see what beautiful things you've posted this week, resets my mind for 10-20 minutes. So keep on, keepin' on! And Happy Early 4th of July!

    1. Aw well I'm so glad you are enjoying it! Happy 4th of July to you, too!

  6. Yay! Plus I could read the captions that went with the pictures on the same page so you know I'm happy.

  7. I concur with everyone else...love your Instagram recaps!

Also, nattering on....I love your vocabulary! I don't usually get treated to such beautiful prose unless I read a novel. I also love the word "fortnight"....please try to work that one in soon!

  8. You're so cute.
I JUST got a smart phone last month so maybe there are a few of us lame-oh's out there who can't follow you on instagram and get to see fresh pictures here :)

    1. Hahah thanks, Alison! Watch out for Instagram now--it's addicting!

  9. I dig the instagram recap- esp because you can usually add more commentary or a lengthy description of each photo. I really need to do this on my own blog!
