But then you meet three girls who also blog and take pictures of everything and want something much, much more out of life. You meet them and keep in touch for six months and then it's June and you're all sitting on your back porch together, laughing until you cry, and suddenly you realize that these are some of your very best friends.
It is definitely something much more.
A picture is worth a thousand words, right? Here are fourteen.
I have to really thank my mom and dad from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to invite into their home three people who, six months ago, were strangers; for keeping us full of delicious food and margaritas and wine; for gassing up the boat and taking us for a spin; and for generally being the thoroughly generous people whom I love so much.
And then there's my brother, who made creme brulee from scratch and drove us around and catered to our every whim. You are a wonderful brother and I love you, Sean.
My heart feels so full and I am now not just missing a tall man in China, but three girls miles north of me, as well.
What a lovely way to spend a weekend! It's amazing and wonderful how the blogging community brings people together.

ReplyDeleteLoooove this and love blog friendships, they are just the best.
ReplyDeleteI'm in the stage you mentioned at the start, I'm writing and not too sure why. Is there anyone out there who cares, do people read my musings, is all this time I put in worth it. But slowly things are picking up, I'm involved in my first blog hop, someone who I look up to in the blogging world has asked me to supply their giveaway, I am however yet to meet any blogger friends. I'm hoping there will be a Melbourne get together soon... Thanks for lifting my spirits.
ReplyDeleteMegan,
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your blog. In fact you are an inspiration to me to keep on blogging even when no one seems to read or comment on my 'musings'. You have done a remarkable job generating a following and doing it with such style! Good job!
I love this. So much fun. I know what you mean about meeting other bloggers - it's been awesome to get to know that there are other people out there like me. That's awesome that you entire family helped execute your weekend. Not to mention a brother who makes creme brulees...
ReplyDeleteit's worth all of it. i know the thoughts you have, i used to blog only for my friends for a long time but then i started sharing my posts as well on other blogs and i'm really happy if somebody reads. then there are days where i wonder if people should even know all about myself and if they WANT to know. but then i get a nice email or a comment or a friend tells me they like what i write and then i think, yes, i should really go on and i should even do more.
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing your experiences, i really like your blog! and i'm glad you've found some nice friends in the blogosphere!
So nice, I read it twice. Long time reader, first time comment! Giggle, giggle!
