TWO | I am an alien without eyeliner. Again, I'm sure it's not really that bad. But I just really like eyeliner.
THREE | I've been referring to milk as "cow pus" in my head for almost a year now, because milk makes me so sick but I love it so much. It mostly works, unless I have a tablet for lactose-intolerance in my bag and I'm at a coffee shop with whole milk and then I'm all,"Give me a latte with some of that cow pus."
FOUR | I've been really bad about working out lately, so I try to sneak exercise in to daily activities, which means that on any given morning, you can find me doing lunges in my shower and while I brush my teeth, and on a normal evening I am on the floor doing push ups after sending an email, and pumping out a few jump squats while bacon fries up on the stove.
FIVE | I am some kind of Virginia Mosquito delicacy. I spend the summer covered in the itchiest bites and I can't help but scratch the shit out of them and talk about how much I hate the summer while I bleed.
SIX | I put a scarf or a newspaper or a paper towel (anything, really) on my dog's head and sing "I Dreamed a Dream" from Les Mis to him almost every night after dinner. My family also randomly surrounds him and sings "I Love You Like a Love Song, Rocky" and "Hey Rocky, You're So Fine" (renditions of Selena Gomez's and Toni Basil's songs, respectively).
SEVEN | I regularly spank my mom while walking past her like we're on the same football team or something.
So that's me. What's weird about you?
Hahaha! This was great! I don't think I've ever seen your hair straight?? Have I? I don't know. But anyways, I love your hair. It always looks so think and healthy.
ReplyDeleteThe working out thing killed me!
This is wonderful! And I feel the same way about eyeliner. :)
ReplyDeleteHahaha, I love it - I'm the same way about eyeliner. The downside of having blonde eyelashes and blonde eyebrows is I really DO look like an alien without eyeliner haha.
ReplyDeleteThe first thing that springs to mind is that I wear swimming goggles to chop onions...but while most people consider this weird I think it's genius :) I can also empathise with the eyeliner addiction! And I love your incorporation of gym activities into everyday life..I can just picture you doing lunges while pushing a shopping trolley and other mundane activities :)
ReplyDeleteThat sounds genius! I try to work a lunge into every daily activity!
DeleteI, too, have an affinity for butts: Ben gets a big ol squeeze every time I walk by and my little sister gets a smack.
ReplyDeleteThe phrase "cow pus" makes me want to vomit everywhere.
Though there are a thousand quirky things about me, I only have time for one confession right now: I took my nail polish off of my toes on Wednesday for to get ready to paint them before my job fair and I haven't yet. These 6 days have been the longest my toes have gone unpainted since I could paint them in middle school. No naked toes in 12+ years. Until now.
But it IS cow pus!
DeleteI probably haven't had nail polish on my toes in twelve years. We're like pedicure opposites.
I pick off all of my mascara at exactly 3pm every single day and then don't feel pretty for the last two hours of the work day. It's a real pain in the ass.
ReplyDeleteHAHA I LOVE THIS. (couldn't have come at a better time, either - I'm just now filling in some holes in my March editorial calendar and will definitely be stealing!)
ReplyDeleteCan I just say, you are hilarious!? I am very impressed with your multitasking skills when it comes to exercising. I am going to have to try the lunges in the shower thing...just hope I don't bust my butt in the process!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog!
Aw, thanks Chels! You do have to be very careful with the shower lunges. Don't fall!
DeleteHaha these are great! One of my quirks is that I collect sugar packets. I keep telling myself my collection is big enough (and pretty useless, at that), but I still get a little excited every time I find a new sugar packet. I have two shoeboxes full.
ReplyDeleteHaha what will you do with them when you have "enough"?
DeleteLove reading things like this about my favorite bloggers! There are so many weird things about me - I may do a similar post :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Georgina! Let me know if you do!
DeleteHa! I love the dog thing. If anyone saw how weird I was around my dogs they would have me committed :).
ReplyDeletehahaha this is amazing. I do the same thing with milk due to my severe lactose intolerance. My Florida-humidity-self gets MAULED by mosquitos too. Even when it's not summer. Kills me. AND my dog's name is Ziggy, so naturally we all sing, "Ziggy, Ziggy, Ziggy can't you see? Sometimes your words just hypnotize me" & "Zig-a-zig ahhh." Glad to hear I'm not the only one with these issues. ;)

LOVE this! I want to do my own! I am the same on the eyeliner/hair front, except that mine is naturally wavy and I feel off when it isn't perfectly straight. Maybe it is just the ritual of styling it that makes us feel "done"? I am wearing mine au naturale today and just feel like a slob, even when other people compliment it. Glad to know I'm not alone!
ReplyDeleteI too am guilty of serenading my pup - it is so much fun, how could you resist?! Pups are the best!
xoxo Amanda
If you do, let me know! I definitely think there is something about the styling ritual, for sure.
Deletei love everything on this.
ReplyDeletetotally you.
I love this!! I am the same with eyeliner too, I think I look SO weird without it! x
ReplyDeleteGlad I'm not alone!
DeleteHaha, amazing. I also am a homing device for all insects...I literally cannot go camping because I still have scars from bug bites three summers ago. Maybe it's something about pale skin?
ReplyDeleteIt is! Someone in my family always told me it was the Irish side of me that made me so delicious to them.
DeleteJust for the record, even though we've only seen a few glimpses of them here and there, I think your straight locks look lush!
ReplyDeleteWe should be sisters because almost all of those are true for me too, particularly #1 and #2!
ReplyDeleteHilarious! Thank you for sharing that with us! I sing what i am doing like I'm in a musical. my family thinks i am weird.
ReplyDeleteHahah that sounds awesome.
DeleteI love this post. And your hair is absolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteJillian - http://epic-thread.blogspot.com
Thank you so much!
DeleteYou are so cute, megan.x me..Well,I wish I had straight/ calm hair...!
ReplyDeleteHaha Number 7 definitely made me laugh because I do the same thing to my mom!
ReplyDeleteAmia-http://teapotsandbelles.blogspot.com/
love this! i can totally relate about wanting to curl the tips of your straight hair, and the eyeliner:) one if my quirks is that i always itch to cut my own bangs even though i often end up with uneven fringes or i cut them too short.
ReplyDeleteI'm the same way with mosquitoes! and really just bugs in general. I can be surrounded by people while outside and still end up the only person with bug bites. how ridiculous!
ReplyDeleteLOL, this post made me laugh. Adorable.
ReplyDeletehaha I totally spank my Mom (and sisters too)! Loved this.
ReplyDeleteHAHA. Brilliant.
ReplyDeleteI'm worried about these shower lunges, they sound mighty dangerous!
Fact: only female mosquitoes bite. So maybe take it as a compliment that all of the lady mosquitoes bite you..?
haha i love this! i do stand up push-ups in the shower against the wall. i am totally slipping and falling one day.

I'm pretty sure I at least need to start curling the ends of my hair (how do you do it?!). Mine is stick straight and drives me crazy most of the time. And I'm the same...mosquito delicacy. And wtf?! I can NOT find any remedy that stops the itching. I scratch mine to the point of blood too (and in the middle of the night); when will it end?!
ReplyDeletePeople like to look to the other people straight's hair. ;)
