Our Back Deck Garden

Tuesday, May 14, 2013

Every year, my mom plants an herb garden. This year we also got some salad bowls! Lettuce in one pot and arugula in another. This is always one of my favorite things--I love cooking something in the kitchen and being able to just randomly go outside for some fresh basil or chives.

We planted these about two weeks ago and they're growing further already. Spring is here and summer is on the way!

  2. Love that! This is kind of silly...But, after you cut some lettuce, how long does it take for more to grow back? (It does grow back, right?)

  3. Great idea! I go through so much salad though I think mine wouldn't have a chance to grow anything!

  4. Such an amazing array of herbs! The most I've ever managed to keep alive is the odd basil plant on our kitchen windowsill, and even they didn't last long. I envy your green fingered ways!

    1. Oh gosh I don't know if I'd go that far! I can barely keep a succulent alive. Buying herbs that have already sprouted is the key!

  10. This is wonderful! My mom planted some herbs out back, but I really want something like this when I have a place of my own with outdoor space. Planting lettuce is an awesome idea.
