Sponsored Post | VSP: Style With a Vision

Tuesday, October 8, 2013

I feel really lucky to have good health coverage, but I don't really understand most things about insurance and deductibles and premiums. Sometimes I forget what those last two words even mean, and I always just kind of hope for the best when I go to the doctor. I never know whether to expect a bill later or if I'll have to pay at the office.

And vision insurance--like, do I have it or not?

The last time I went to the eye doctor, I was diagnosed with astigmatism and picked out some frames while my pupils were still dilated. I went to pick them up a week later and still loved them, but was surprised by the $300+ price tag. Woops! Individual vision insurance from VSP Direct can help you complete your personal look through access to affordable and stylish designer frames. Your eyewear is the only fashion item that you can get insurance for, so why not? It's really affordable (available for as little as 41 cents a day!) and easy to use. Here are some of the perks:

Eye exam coverage with a low co-payment
Allowance for glasses or contacts, fully covered lens options
Lowest out-of-pocket cost in vision care
100% satisfaction guaranteed
30,000 providers in convenient locations

VSP and Nine West are teaming up for the "Style with a Vision" Pinterest sweepstakes--you can enter to win a Nine West shopping spree and a year of free vision care from VSP Direct!

I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.

  1. thanks for this timely post .. with the healthcare sign up upon us, it is nice to be informed of all of the different options out there. as an aside, i'm curious(being nosy) are you working since your move and is your ins coverage thru your employer? i know a blog is just a glimpse of one's life, but it doesn't seem that you are. not a criticism, read "envious"

    1. Glad you found it informative! I manage the Social Media accounts of a few businesses and have been blogging and growing Cave Girl (http://cavegirlconsulting) for the past few months, so no I'm not working in the traditional sense!

My insurance was through my employer, but I've also been on my parents' insurance and can stay there until I turn 26, and I'll just switch to Rob's once we're married.

  2. Super cute photo! I had Lasik in 2001 and love it. I need reading glasses now, but I buy them in bulk at Costco!

  4. UGH health insurance kills me - especially how vision and dental often aren't attached!
