It was kind of dreary and cold out, but we listened to my autumn playlist on the way and by the time we got there I was practically giddy with excitement. If all the cute, bundled up kids and the hayride out to the orchards weren't charming enough, the petting zoo stationed by the apple cider press really sealed the deal.
I had the best time. Good coffee, beautiful autumn weather, a romantic stroll through an apple orchard, and a couple of llamas. I don't ask for much, but I managed to get it all in one morning.
That first apple looked like a honey crisp, but after the next few I'm not sure. But if it was, aren't they amazing? I wish we had some orchards to go to around here. It's hard to find a good one down south; I'm used to the north. We went last year when I was pregnant, but I want to take the babe. =[
ReplyDeleteI love apple picking, I"m so bummed I haven't been yet this season!
ReplyDeleteI want to go apple picking so badly! I know there are a million places to go here in VA, but we just can't seem to find the time.
ReplyDeletein order for us to go apple picking we'd have to drive an hour and a half to the nearest apple farm :(
ReplyDeleteHa ha! You don't ask for much... Just a couple llamas!
ReplyDeleteI love fall activities like this. Something about being outside on crisp, even dreary days, is wonderful, especially when you can come warm up indoors with a mug of apple cider!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like so much fun!

So fun! I went apple picking a few weeks ago and had a blast. I would have preferred the fog! It was hot and sunny when I went. Not at all like fall.

I went apple picking for the first time last year at Carter Mountain and had such a blast! The apple cider donuts were my favourite part :)
