I don't know why. Maybe it's Thanksgiving. Maybe it's that almost-constant grey sky and perpetual misty rain. Or it's the colder weather. The scarves, the blankets, the comfy mornings spent in sweatshirts with steaming mugs of tea. It could be the chilly morning or afternoon runs where you need gloves and can see your breath in front of you. Maybe it's all of it.
Don't get me wrong--I do like sunshine and bright colors and all of that warm stuff. But I'd always rather sit beside a fire than a pool. I love a dreary day where the sun barely comes out. Even better if you don't actually have to leave the house. It makes me want to read and write things down on paper. I want to roll around in the coziness of it all.
There's just something about November.
I love this song. And everything about Fall and Winter.

I like November too. Its funny, as I'm growing up (and after my granddad passed, it's been more evident) I'm realizing what things really -mean- to me.....ya know. Simple things, like November being really nice, etc. I've actually tried to appreciate each month this year & remember them...remember what they mean, but it seems like time is slipping away from me really quickly. I dunno.....I guess it's old age....lol
ReplyDeleteI really love your posts like these. The short ones that make you think. Just love 'em.
November. favorite. Yes to all of it. Yes to all of those words! xoxo
ReplyDeletei'm with you on that one-November is one of my favourite months
ReplyDeleteLiving somewhere where your month of November is going to last for six months, I've been trying to wish the gray away but your post really made me think. I DO like fires better than pools and short winter days are my favorite so I'm going to embrace this climate like you embrace November. Thanks :)
ReplyDeleteOh I hope you do! It's the best!
Deletei completely agree. sitting in a bsuit is overrated.
ReplyDeletesitting by a fire with hot cocoa [your paleo version obvi] is much more appealing.
i'll come over.

ReplyDeleteoh, I absolutely love this song. And I completely agree. There is something so magical about November!
ReplyDeleteI think its so cute how much you love rain and clouds and grey. No wonder you live on the east coast. I'd take a sunny day any day but I love that we all have our thing.
ReplyDeleteNovember is my favourite too! Here we haw flowers coming out, the sun is shinning, but we still get the occasional cool day. It's seriously, just lovely!
ReplyDeleteBlankets and sweats...yes, Yes, YES!!!!
ReplyDeleteBlankets and sweats! Yes, Yes, Yes!!! I love a stormy day too, because it is nature giving you permission to take a day off.
ReplyDeleteExactly! I love an excuse to lay around.
DeleteA specific reason this is a great November, Ben Gibbard released the video for Teardrop Windows today. :D

Yay, someone else who loves my birthday month! :-)
ReplyDeleteAfter a long, hot summer here in Sicily, I'm totally with you. Time to curl up by the fire with a book and hot chocolate!
Yessss! I love October, November and December so much. Okay, Autumn and Winter really covers my love. I lust for the grey skies, rainy and snowy days and the inner coziness they bring. I mean, I love Spring and Summer as well, but there IS something about these gorgeous seasons.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree! I love November too. Especially because of Thanksgiving and being home with my family. And comfort food, cooler weather, and delicious coffee.
ReplyDeleteI just love how you framed this month. It makes me really excited to enjoy this cozy weather. I think there is something special to embrace about all of the seasons, even the dreadfully cold ones. :)
ReplyDeleteI love this post, it may be because I also love November. The anticipation of Christmas is a good part too. New follower from Sometimes Sweet.
ReplyDeleteCan relate to this! I love Autumn. It's my birthday month, but the atmosphere is also beautiful..the cosy nights in with a mug of hot chocolate!
